Human Right Watch: 2008 Annual Report

The project called for the redesign of the annual report for Human Rights Watch, a watch group focused on exposing governments that fail to give basic rights to their citizens.

I decided to project a clean and simple aesthetic. Sharp, emotional images were a key design element. The 1992 Bosnian genocide was used as a case study. Vellum inserts were used to differentiate the study from the main report and also further the concept of exposing the criminal governments to the global community by “lifting the veil”.
